​What a great weekend of lawn bowls action at the club as we hosted the 2026 Jack Robar Memorial Open Triples- one of our biggest events of the year! The competition brought together 14 awesome teams from all over the province to battle it out for top honours.
Congratulations to Cameron Lefresne, Chris Cooper and Dennis Mullane on winning this year’s championship with a win over Cathy Mills, Vicki Balcom and Lorraine Bezanson. It was a big win as Cam and Dennis both win their 8th title each (between the Robar and the event’s former name- the Dudley Kerr). Dennis won his first title on the trophy back in 1974!
In the other finals, Ian MacDonald, Matt Sebastian and Greg Heatherington won the B final over Steve Ogden, Rick Fry and Grahame Usher. In the C final, Doug McLearn, Mike LeBlanc and Lorne Davis took out the title in a win over Mark Robar, Mark Singer and Eric Veinot. In the consolation game, Al Bridges, Joe Casey and Rob Gordey defeated Tyler Marshall, Ryan Campbell and Mark Teeple.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Robar tournament an awesome success. Hope to see you all in 2027 (and many more teams too!).

Congratulations to our WLBC members who won the 2025 Provincial 5-A-Side Championships this past weekend at the club.
In the Men's competition, Terry O'Neil, John Siteman, Kevin Stewart and Grahame Usher (along with Raymond MacDonald of Dartmouth) won the Dennis Mullane Cup title with a 5 games to 1 series win over Tyler Marshall, Curtis Cartmill, Greg Heatherington, James Anderson and Mark Teeple of Wanderers and Bedford.
In the Women's competition, Lorraine Bezanson, Jackie Foster and Ann Marie Siteman (along with Vicki Balcom of Dartmouth and Tammy Foster-Veinot of Bridgetown) defended their Deborah Foster Cup title with a 4 games to 2 series win over Charmaine Cameron, Debby Purdy, Betty MacAlpine, Joyce Anderson and Carolyn Reeves of Dartmouth and Bedford.
Good luck to our Team Nova Scotia as they head to Nationals in Edmonton next month!

The Wanderers Lawn Bowls Club are excited to announce the return of our annual Spring "Try Bowls Free Lessons and Open House Days" after a two year absence due to COVID-19. 
Come on out and try lawn bowling this Summer! The Wanderers Lawn Bowls Club will be holding our annual Free Lessons Days and Open House events on May 21st and 22nd (from 1-4pm each day). Visit our club to try out a true sport for all ages! You can learn a bit about our awesome sport and what is going on at our club this Summer!

The Wanderers Lawn Bowls Club is happy to see the news of the advancement of the new Halifax Commons Master Plan.
As part of the plan, the municipality has been quite receptive to comments from our club and members regarding the exciting growth of our club in recent years and the need for upgrades to make our facility better for our bowls community (both our current members and the community who visit our facility. We are very optimistic that this will lead to great things for our club and for our sport in Downtown Halifax.
